Bloody Hearts
(L: Cimetta; M: Cimetta)

Notes:
J had written this before we got together. We were never averse to playing a slow song, and it was always a part of our repertoire. I've long thought the last line to be very beautiful, as the subtle tone of the defeated and resigned narrator is one that brings about great empathy.

All my life it seems
I lived nightmares not dreams
These midnight scenes won't leave
Down an endless hall
A candle guides my fall
Listen the angels cry
Oh no they never lie
Their echoes say my deep well's dry
What did I belove
When my world became a
Spiteful undone lonely darkened
Lost and profound sadly unfound.

All my life I've tried to help please and change my ways
Can't stop the rage this curse is caged
I lost the game it's a shame we're apart
And time won't heal bloody hearts.

Released with an anger
A certain rage of danger
Behold the lost stranger
I breathe the open air
The only freedom I bare
Caught deep within this hall
Trapped rotting in these walls
The sounds from death bells call
Sentenced for all life
I cannot seem to feel
Ashamed at loss afraid appalled
Who traced my fall I'll find to maul.

All my life I've tried to help please and change my ways
Can't stop the rage this curse is caged
I lost the game it's a shame we're apart
And time won't heal bloody hearts.

My inside screams my outside bleeds
My open wounds won't heal too soon.

Vulgar kills brought silent thrills
An outlaw's face shows no disgrace
Now it's time to meet the maker on my knees...
